Is there a more volatile professional sports league to gamble on than the NBA right now? Between COVID-19 and player empowerment it’s hard to find sticky stats or trends that matter.
I’ll just go with an easy equation: Rockets have a whole bunch of proven talent sidelined for various reasons plus Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is an all-time head coach going against a rookie head coach, plus San Antonio’s All-Star caliber talent is activated and purportedly being interested in playing equals an easy Spurs win.
But, PASS ON THE MONEY LINE bet because the NBA is too random to be laying more than -150 on a favorite.
Against the spread (ATS)
Whatever the Rockets are going to be in a month or so isn’t what we’ll see Thursday night. San Antonio low-key has a nice blend of hungry youth and veteran leadership in its starting lineup. I’m high on the Spurs as a play-in contender in a tough Western Conference and it’s not like Houston is starting G-Leaguers excited for an opportunity.
